European Style Pheasant Shooting

Show-Me Birds Hunting Resort offers the highest level of pheasant hunting!

We went to Spain to learn the art of European shoots. Our European pheasant shoots are in a class of their own using the time honored traditions of the Kings of Europe. Now you can enjoy European style shooting, with out paying the outrageous hunt fees currently charged in England and Spain.

Our new shooting course is both challenging and exciting, boasting 10 shooting stations surrounding a 25 foot tall release tower. You can't see the tower, it is behind tree cover!

The course, located in a tall timber creek bottom, has sorghum fields starting at the timber edges. Each station is named based on the difficulty of the shooting. Stations like "Oh Hell" are challenging, whereas, stations like "Frying Pan" give the shooter the advantage. Shooters rotate 10 times during the shoot, giving each hunter a shot at "Oh Hell"!

pheasant hunting kansasPheasants are released from the tower, climbing high above the trees and sailing over the stations at 40-45 miles an hour. Shooters usually shoot 4 to 5 shells at each high flying pheasant.

The staff of Show-Me Birds Hunting Resort were the shooters at our first shoot. These "professional hunters" spent 756 shells and only harvested 74 birds out of 175 released! They still talk about that day, and can't wait for the next shoot.
