It is directed to resort owners that need help within their business. That being said here we go for those who are interested in making their resort all it can be!  We come to you to help start your hunting operation OR to help you save you losing it and your huge investment.  We have helped many in the industry get started.

To start with, this is hard for me to write. For if i tell you why you should consider me as a consultant. I need to tell you my experience, my qualifications if you will. To me it sounds like bragging. But, as my hero John Wayne said ” it’s not bragging if it is fact”! So here we go. I have always been a serious hunter. But my life in the world of hunting professionally began in 1977 when I got lucky and bagged a Boone and Crockett Whitetail. It is still in the record book today. This started me working as a hunting consultant, why I am not sure. But it did. I soon started a company called Midwestern Hunting Consultants, which lasted for many years. This business blessed me with 198 hunting trips ( hunting camps as well) around the world. Which taught me what a hunting operation should be. So when I retired from this (hunters dream job) in 1990 I was ready to stay home yet still wanted to stay in the hunting industry. So I started Show Me Birds Hunting Resort as a hobby. This hobby began with just a few thousand birds and a few hunters the first year. Nowdays it is a little different. We shoot more pheasants and have more hunters then any hunting resort in America. All done in just 20 years of hunting. In fact we harvest more pheasants in a weekend, than most resorts do in a hunting season. All this info can be found in other pages of the web site. So I will not go on about that. Over the years I have helped 10-12 other resorts get started, if these resorts agreed to buy wholesale pheasants from SMB. During these 20 years I have attended the North American Gamebird Association national conventions. I have been on the board of the NAGA for 6 years. Plus write a column in the national magazine for many years, about the issues of a hunting resort. I still write a column for the NAGA News. I have also been a convention speaker for many years at the national convention. I am past president of the Kansas Sport Hunters Association our state group of hunting resort and gamebird producers. I was also awarded the 2006 Kansas Businessman of the year. So have you got the idea that I know a little about the hunting industry? Ok, enough said. This is not about my ego, this is to explain why I can help you. You are asking yourself, what can you do for me!

I will come to your business. I will tour the operation with you. Then set down with you to discuss ideas and give input as to how you can make your business grow. Sad to report most resorts last about 3 years. My local game warden told me this 20 years ago, I have had 4 game wardens since then!Most resorts do not understand what they are doing wrong until it is to late. Most resorts do not show a profit. MOST RESORTS ARE RUN BY GOOD HUNTERS, NOT GOOD SALESMAN. You may have the best dogs, the best birds, the best land but none of this is important if no one comes to pay you for a hunt!

You make a list of questions, I will bring the answers to your business. My answers come from years of “learning the hard way”! I have lost or spent hundreds of thousands of dollars learning what works. I can save you all this, maybe save your dream business that is in trouble. Here is the way it works. It will cost for me to leave my business and come help yours. I tell people do not look at the cost, look at what you will save in years down the road.

1. You pay all travel costs to and from your location. Some locations can be drove to by me. Others I will fly to you for the visit. You pickup at the airport and return. Hotel or lodge for all overnights by you. All meals. All travel related expenses are by you and I will supply your receipts for IRS deductions.

2. I only do consulting during April< May<June months. During July and August I am on the road selling for my resort at hunting shows. During hunting season you know what I am doing!

3. Cost is $1100.00 per day flat rate. Two day minimum. Plus the above travel costs. Yes, I am not cheap. But, I am leaving my business to come help you improve yours. Also saving you a ton of mistakes and thousands of dollars over the years of due to making wrong business judgement ‘s.
